"I have a passion for caring for people, especially children. My passion is fueled by the connections made with the families I serve and the ability to watch the children's lives be transformed by the ability to communicate."
Katelyn grew up in Cherokee County and knew this was the place she wanted to give back to and serve. She says "It is such a blessing to have a career where I can help others. I absolutely love children and getting to know their families. In my eyes, being able to communicate is one of the most important things in life. It is my mission to reach as many families as possible and change their lives with the gift of communication, however that may look for that child."
Katelyn graduated from the University of Georgia in 2015 with her Bachelors degree and graduated from Valdosta State University in 2016 with her Masters. Katelyn has over 8 years of experience in pediatric speech therapy.
She is most passionate about helping children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, teaching parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder communication and sensory strategies, helping children who are Gestalt Language Processors, and treating complex speech sound disorders. Other areas she treats include: social communication disorders, articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language disorders, and using Augmentative Alternative Communication. Katelyn is PROMPT trained.
In her free time, she enjoys strolling around downtown Roswell with her husband, daughter Amelia, and goldendoodle, Bella. She loves trying out new restaurants in the area.
